ChannelBot Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 24, 2026
ChannelBot is a SaaS tool for YouTube creators, businesses, and agencies that helps automate comment replies, moderate comments, manage engagement, and understand channel performance.
Information We Collect
When you create an account or connect a YouTube channel through Google OAuth and the YouTube Data API, ChannelBot may collect account details, YouTube channel data, YouTube video metadata, YouTube comments and comment metadata, YouTube analytics and engagement data, encrypted OAuth tokens, moderation logs, automated reply history, sync status, and security audit events.
Cookies, Device Storage, and Local Technologies
ChannelBot stores, accesses, and retrieves information directly on and from your device using first-party cookies, browser local storage, session storage, and cache storage strictly to operate the service, keep you signed in, preserve user interface preferences, and optimize load performance:
- Session and Authentication Cookies: We set secure, first-party authentication cookies (
token, adminToken) on your device to maintain your authenticated login session and verify real-time WebSocket communication. These are retained during your active session and removed when you log out. - Browser Local Storage: We store authorization tokens (
token, adminToken), user profile information (user), UI theme preferences (adminDashboardTheme), navigation sidebar display preferences (adminSidebarExpanded), and mobile environment detection flags (isMobileApp) in your browser's LocalStorage. This data is retained on your device until you log out or clear your browser data. - Browser Session Storage: We use temporary session storage (
plan_acknowledged) to track transient onboarding and plan acknowledgment states during an active browsing tab. This data is automatically deleted when you close your browser tab or session. - Cache API and Service Worker Storage: Our Service Worker caches application assets, web fonts (
google-fonts-cache), and YouTube channel avatars (youtube-avatars-cache) directly on your device to enable offline Progressive Web App (PWA) functionality and speed up page load times. Cached items are retained according to standard cache expiration policies (30 to 365 days) or until cleared.
Third-Party Access: ChannelBot does not allow third-party advertising networks, tracking brokers, or marketing analytics scripts to access information on your device. When third-party services are loaded for essential functionality—such as Google OAuth/YouTube embedded players (subject to Google's Privacy Policy) or the Razorpay checkout script for secure subscription payments (subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy)—those providers may receive standard device/browser connection data strictly to complete the authorized transaction or feature.
Why We Use It
We use this information to fetch and organize comments, generate and publish approved replies, detect spam or harmful comments, support moderation workflows, manage viewer engagement, show analytics and reports, secure accounts, troubleshoot errors, and provide customer support.
No Sale or Third-Party Sharing
ChannelBot does not sell, rent, trade, or share your Google user data, YouTube channel data, comments, video metadata, analytics data, or OAuth tokens with third parties for advertising, resale, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
Retention & YouTube 30-Day Limit (Policy III.I.4)
In accordance with YouTube API Services Developer Policies (including Policy III.I.4 and Section III.E.4), stored YouTube API data is kept for no longer than thirty (30) calendar days without a data refresh. We keep account records, connected channel records, OAuth tokens, cached comments, video metadata, analytics snapshots, moderation logs, and reply logs while your ChannelBot account or channel connection is active and the information is needed to provide the service.
Revoke Access and Delete Data (Policy III.C.1 & Policy III.I.4)
By using ChannelBot, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. All data processing is performed strictly in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
- Self-Service Data Purge: You can purge all stored YouTube channel data, cached comments, moderation logs, and OAuth tokens at any time via Settings -> YouTube Privacy & Data Controls in the app.
- Google Security Revocation: You can revoke Google OAuth access at any time from your Google Security Settings Permissions Page.
